Live the Life You Only Imagined

“Principle is not bound by precedent." ~ Ernest Holmes

Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote many profound things and that is one of my favourites.

It reminds me that just because something has always unfolded in a certain way, that doesn’t mean it has to happen that way every time.

In other words, the possibilities are unlimited.

That’s why this sign is hanging where I can see it every day.

The possibilities for my life are also unlimited. I have many moments when I realize with absolute joy that I AM living the life I only imagined.

I am discovering that the more I release my ego and need for control, and remember there is a loving, benevolent Universal Intelligence that is responding to my thoughts and beliefs, the richer my life becomes.

Recently I was explaining to a client that she is getting a refund on her income taxes this year. She immediately started telling me there must be some mistake, because, in her words “nothing good ever happens to me.” Suddenly I stopped being her tax professional, and my practitioner’s heart took over. I told her this was her opportunity to change the narrative, to start believing that good things can and DO happen in her life. There was no Kumbaya moment, but I saw a little hint of a gleam in her eye, and I knew a seed had been planted.

Just as I was starting this blog, Amanda shared this meme with me:

“Just as an experiment, take three weeks and pretend there’s a force of Love trying to help you. See what your life feels like after this”. Tosha Silver

I love it!

Bringing a greater awareness of this teaching to the Nanaimo area is a perfect example of me living the life I could only imagine.

I invite you to join me on this journey, as together we experience what life can be like, when we believe - truly believe - that the universe is conspiring for our highest and greatest good.

Peace,

Derek

Territorial Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that our community is located on the traditional unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.

As uninvited settlers on this territory, we recognize that we have participated in and benefitted from colonial systems of oppression. We acknowledge the responsibility of the settlers on this land to actively engage in the process of decolonizing systems, structures and practices. We recognize the devastating and lasting impacts colonization has had on the culture, language, traditions, economy, and world views of Indigenous peoples.

As a spiritual community, we are committed to working towards reconciliation. We will listen and educate ourselves on decolonization, and we will look for opportunities to celebrate and uplift the Indigenous community and peoples of this land. We acknowledge our settler privilege and seek to more fully understand the impact it has had on the land and Indigenous peoples.
